Avalanche introduces Visa crypto card for seamless global spending
The Avalanche Foundation, in collaboration with Rain, has introduced the Avalanche Card. According to a press statement shared with Crypto News, the card is both real and digital, and it allows users to spend cryptocurrency anywhere Visa is accepted.
The Avalanche Card accepts USDCoin (USDC-0.01%). USDC, Tether (usdt-0.01%), Wrapped AVAX, and AVAX (avax1.49%) aims to simplify cryptocurrency payments for daily transactions. The new solution eliminates the need for complex conversions by allowing direct spending, making it a viable option for customers in areas with inadequate financial infrastructure. According to John Wu, President of Ava Labs, the program aims to make cryptocurrencies “as familiar as swiping a credit card.”
Visa and crypto
Last November, Crypto.com launched its Visa payment card program in Latin America, bringing its cryptocurrency-linked rewards card to the area. It provides benefits in seven categories, including up to 8% cash back, service refunds, and airport lounge access.
Similarly, by utilizing the Visa network, the Avalanche Card offers a secure and accessible payment method, strengthening Avalanche’s overall commitment to decentralized finance accessibility. With an initial deployment in Southeast Asia, Africa, and Latin America, the Avalanche Card is poised to boost the popular use of digital assets.
